John Schatz founded Eclipse Dev Studios in 2009, after a decade of building for the web. The studio grew out of a pattern he kept seeing: businesses forcing their work into tools that almost fit. Seventeen years on, Eclipse still exists to build the version that actually fits.
We're a remote team of ten, led from Minneapolis-St. Paul by John. He is the single point of contact for every client: scoping, communication, and accountability, while the team builds behind him. The person you talk to is the person responsible for your build.
John has spent more than two decades building for the web, and has run Eclipse Dev Studios since 2009, from PHP work in the early years to the custom web applications, portals, and mobile apps Eclipse ships today. He personally leads every client relationship, from the first scoping call through launch and beyond, with a senior remote team of ten building behind him. John is based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and studied at Macalester College.
